Walking In a Winter Wonderland

Happy 2018 everyone! I know I haven’t written a post in a while but so many things have gone on, I just haven’t had the time. I started a new job in October (woohoo) and then the holiday season very quickly came and went but now I have no excuse! One of my goals for 2018 is writing more  – I find it to be such a stress reliever and I’m making it a point to actually make time for my blog since I enjoy it so much. Another goal of mine is to visit as many new places as possible/revisit old places I really love.

It’s extremely important to get out of the city as much as possible and to make sure you have time away from work. Don’t get me wrong, I like my job/NYC but sometimes they become overwhelming and consume me which is why I prefer living in NJ away from the constant shuffle. I also love to spend as much time outdoors as possible but it’s difficult to do that in the winter since it gets so cold around here. Recently, my boyfriend and I decided to take advantage of the weird 50 degree weather we were having and went to Awosting Falls in New Paltz for a a quick hike. (During the summer we visited Watkins Glen and fell in love. I’ll write a TBT post about it even though I should’ve months ago *oops.*)

New Paltz is this adorable little town about an hour and a half outside of Manhattan. A few years ago, we visited during the fall and it was beautiful so we felt that it would be a great place to visit now.

I’m personally not a fan of snow/winter but Awosting Falls was covered in snow and ice –  it was absolutely stunning. It’s always weird hiking in the winter because I never know what to wear so my outfit here is definitely not cute. I wore Fabletics leggings with a sweatshirt from Forever 21, Timberland hiking boots and my favorite Free People parka. It’s always nice to have a mini escape from work/life stresses. Where do you like to escape to? I’m always looking for new places to visit that aren’t too far away so comment with any and all recommendations!
