Waking up on a chilly September morning, it finally hit me, summer has sadly come to an end. I’m a person who adores summer time. I love the beach, the heat, and summer fashion (palazzo pants and flowy dresses are my go-to.) This year, summer was a little more special to me because I got to spend two glorious weeks in beautiful Italy!
In my last post, I mentioned how much I LOVED Venice and I repeat, I LOVE VENICE. The only word to describe Venice is magical. Next time I go to Italy, I need to stay there for a few nights because one day was absolutely not enough.
I kept all my outfits simple on this vacation, only packing flowy dresses and airy clothing. This dress specifically is one of my favorites in general. It’s of course from Urban, I paired the dress with my trusty Fossil bag (the only one I brought to Italy,) my favorite Ray Bans and my strappy sandals. When I put that dress on that morning, I felt that it screamed Venice.
The architecture was incredible. Anyone who knows me personally, knows I die over architecture and colorful accents which was another reason why Venice was/is my favorite. The entire city is so old and yes, the water is green and pretty gross but as a whole, the city is stunning.
After leaving Florence, our next stop was Sorrento. Still a beautiful city, Sorrento was not my favorite (because Capri and Venice were) BUT the food was phenomenal. I tried Gnocchi for the first time at a restaurant right outside of our Airbnb and I’m dying to have it again. Nothing will ever compare! As mentioned, the common theme throughout my trip outfit wise was flowy and airy. My off the shoulder dress is only $24 at Asos and my strapless romper is from Urban! This adorable sold-out floral set is from Free People and my sandals are from Old Navy. What I love about this set, is you can mix and math each piece with something else! This was the view from our Airbnb! We were right on the water!
The highlight of our Sorrento trip was going to Capri for a day! We rented a boat and were brought to and around the island for around 8 hours. Though the day trip started off on the rocky side, literally and figuratively, the motion sickness wore off and we were able to enjoy the day. I decided to wear a one piece that day as my skin had already gotten so much sun! This one is from Abercrombie. I bought my cute sunhat from a street vendor in Bagnara and my sunglasses are from Quay.
The water was the clearest I’ve ever seen and I can’t wait to go back! If you ever have the chance to go to a city on the Amalfi Coast, I strongly suggest taking a day trip to Capri. You will not be disappointed!
Overall, my trip to Italy was amazing. I was able to visit a few different cities, learn about the culture, enjoy the company of friends and disconnect from the real world .. aka work. This trip made my summer the best summer yet and I can’t wait to travel some more in the future!
