I was lucky enough to see one of my favorite bands, Broods, this past Tuesday. I remember the first time I heard Broods, I was ASM at Free People in Paramus and my coworker and I kept calling their song Bridges, the “burning bridges song.” We would search on the FP radio station for it (you literally have to skip each song hoping for the best since it’s an old system,) since then I’ve been obsessed!
When I heard that Broods was going to play at Webster Hall for only $35, I knew I had to go. I told one of my closest friends who is also a fan and we bought tickets immediately. To kill some time beforehand and so we also didn’t drink too much at dinner, we stopped by Washington Square Park to hang out and enjoy the weather.
Though the weather outside was absolutely beautiful, I knew it would be uncomfortably warm one we were at the venue, so I decided to wear something breezy. I wore high waisted ripped BDG jeans from Urban Outfitters, a black basic Free People body suit, Jeffery Campbell ankle booties, and added some color with this elephant printed kimono from Zara.
Wrapping a long sweater, shirt, or in this case kimono, around your waist is a cool way to change your outfit up a bit. It’s also a better alternative to just holding it at a concert.
Here are a couple more videos from the show. If you’ve never heard of them, definitely look them up ASAP, I promise you’ll be in love. Though I love all their songs, these are my favorites: Bridges, Never Gonna Change, Pretty Thing, Recovery, Full Blown Love, and All of Your Glory.
What’s you favorite band? I’m always looking to listen to cool, new music so leave some suggestions below!
P.S.: This Sunday I’m going to see the man, the myth, the legend, Sir Paul McCartney (with my dad!) I’ll make sure to take tons of pictures and videos and of course a post will come to follow!
