California Love

It’s been my dream to go to California for as long as I can remember. Everyone who knows me knows that I have always wanted to make a move from the east coast to the west coast but have stayed here in NYC. Finally this past weekend I was able to visit.

In Fall 2011, I started my first internship at Karmaloop.com as a PR/marketing intern where I met two of my very close friends Cam and Sandy. Cam moved to LA about two years ago and Sandy and I have been saying we’d go visit her for quite some time. Finally, we made that happen and made a trip out to LA for a long (still short) weekend.

It was fun to see LA through a local’s eyes. We opted out of doing the usual touristy things because that wasn’t what we were there to do, we were there to spend time with our friend and see what LA life is all about.

I personally have no interest in going to see the Walk of Fame or Hollywood sign. We went to Malibu and Santa Monica on our second day and Disneyland on our last day (we are 5 years old at heart.) Though there were certain things we didn’t end up doing like hiking and going to Venice Beach, landing late on Thursday night and leaving on Monday morning made it difficult to plan everything we wanted to do. It also made packing difficult so I kept my outfits simple even though I still somehow overpacked.

These are some of my favorite pictures from day 1 of our trip.

IMG_2432These are by far the best jeans I own. They fit like a glove and are so stretchy it doesn’t feel like you are wearing jeans. I got these at Urban Outfitters originally in college but they fell apart after years and years of wear. I bought the same ones recently and at the cost of just $58 you can’t go wrong.IMG_2555
